From someone who has been playing the bagpipe for a long time, one of my favorite products is the Campbell Chanter.  We that play the bagpipe know that it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to warm up and tune up the pipes before a performance.  The big question is this:  What if you don't have time to warm up?  The Campbell Chanter is the perfect solution to that product.  The problem in the warm up is getting the chanter pitch warm enough that it rises and stabilizes at a higher pitch.

The unique feature of this chanter is the "tuning screw".   You can see that on the left side of the chanter in the first picture and a little closer in the 2nd picture.  When I start to play I turn the screw all the way clockwise, set my reed and tune my chanter.  As the pitch rises, I simply reach up and turn the screw counter clockwise to lower the pitch keeping it in tune with my drones.  I find this to be especially helpful when playing a funeral.  The time it takes for the Priest to say the mass at the grave is enough time for my chanter pitch to go back down.  I turn the screw back to the beginning and start over.

The Campbell Chanter is also available in the lower pitch of concert Bb so that you can tune with other traditional instruments.  It also comes with or without a sole.  As seen in the last picture you get a choice of soles.  The Elite model has the narrow sole and the Vintage has the wider sole.  You can choose the engraving from the following designs:  Thistle, Victorian, Zoomorphic, Celtic, Irish, Fire Department and Police Department from the last picture and write your choice in the notes on your order.
